The Role
I really enjoyed my internship with BDO as they were enthusiastic right from the first week. The company are very welcoming and supportive.
Being given responsibility for my own work from the beginning really gave me a sense that I was a valued part of the team.
I had a good relationship with many of the seniors and managers around the office and felt I could seek their support whenever necessary.
I was kept very busy thoughout the internship as I was booked out to clients almost everyday.
I was able to sign off on my own work within this first week.
This internship gave me a much better understanding of how to read and analyse financial documents.
The Company
The Birmingham office were amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, we were always made to feel like we were part of the team.
Our diaries were booked up before we even started the internship, which was handy to see where we might be over the next few weeks.
The week of training in Birmingham was really useful in getting to know the other interns, BDO as a company and the type of work we were doing.

Company Parties/Events
I would really love to work for BDO as a graduate and hope to be offered a job in the Birmingham office!
The Culture
Everyone in the Birmingham office were always keen to organise social events.
The cost of living in the area is very reasonable.
Birmingham have some great food and drink venues, especially the bar opposite the office which became our local meeting place on a Friday after work.
We were invited to participate in Football and Netball practices and played with the team at a football tournament in Leeds.
