The Role
Lots of projects to get involved with and it's great to travel to other sites and meet new people. You may be working independently or as a team so it varies.
Everyone was very friendly and I felt comfortable.
I had a buddy who gave me my work to do and was my main support. I also had other members of my team who looked out for me and would help me with projects even if they weren't involved in them. My line manager was also there if needed.
Can vary sometimes but mostly I was very busy, often in meetings and doing research or editing for my projects.
I had an intern project to present which was a team effort. I was given sections of other projects to complete. For example, creating a learning resource was my own responsibility as I had to find contacts and set up meetings. Other projects I had independence to decide on what I thought needed to be done and would run this by my buddy, they would then tell me if I could go ahead and do the work.
I feel it has been a great insight into the bank, I have expanded my communication, time management and planning skills. Also, team building was important and my confidence has risen.
The Company
Can be quiet at times but everyone was very friendly and I felt comfortable. I enjoyed being with my colleagues as they were positive.
I didn't know what exact team I would be going into until a few days before and I didn't know what my work would involve. However, I have been given plenty to do with a lot of variety so I have really enjoyed it. It depends on our team and who you are working with.
I had mandatory training to complete but was enrolled on a welcome course to get to know people and learn about the company. Also, I was always being given feedback on my work so I was learning a lot from that.

Company Parties/Events
I am very interested in the graduate scheme, there seems to be a lot of variety and events to support you.
The Culture
I was introduced to other interns in my building and across the company. Also there were a few on my team who I spent time with such as at lunch.
Plenty of restaurants and bars which are quite reasonable. Rent can be expensive but I lived at home during my intermship.
Various bars and a few clubs which are okay.
Various charity events to get involved with. Can go out with colleagues.
