The Role
The internship overall was fantastic; I got involved with a wide variety of work and got to know a great team.
I felt really welcome in the team due to my colleagues. We went for several team lunches and drinks after work which made me feel really included.
My buddy was great; most of my work was delegated from him and he explained everything really well. I could also go to him when I had questions about the work/the office etc. My people manager arranged for me to attend client meetings which enabled me to have a more round experience.
At the start of my internship I wasn't that busy so I made sure that people in the team knew that I was available for work. From then on I had plenty of work to do but never felt that there was too much - it was always manageable.
I completed the prep for a meeting with a potential new client. I felt that I was given a good amount of responsibility which allowed me to learn a lot!
I leant a huge amount about PwC, their ethics and the general environment within the firm. I also gained a lot of knowledge in technical areas of tax and the importance of networking!
The Company
The office was very much "work hard play hard". The work is challenging but there are plenty of social opportunities. The team was really good to work with and there was plenty of laughing in the office!
The organisation of the internship by student recruitment was seamless. We attending training, office events and a mid-internship development day, all of which were great!
I had a vast amount of training considering that I was only there for six weeks and also spent a considerable amount of time with senior members of staff including partners.

The Culture
The interns in the Birmingham office were a fab bunch! We met up for lunch most days, went out for drinks a lot and have several nights out. Made some great friends from this experience!
Very reasonable costs.
Birmingham has a wide variety of clubs, bars, pubs and casinos, of which we attended many as a group... :)
Office social every last Friday of the month was a great way to get to know people!
