The Role
I really enjoyed my internship at GT, I learnt so much in six weeks and met some amazing people
I genuinely felt that all of the work I was given was actually useful to the audit and when I completed work I felt people were grateful for my help.
Managers are always available via email or a phone call. They're really helpful and answered all of my questions.
I think there was only two days throughout my internship that I didn't have a lot to do. The rest of the time I was constantly busy and learning new things.
Obviously interns aren't going to get a huge amount of responsibility but I was genuinely shocked by how much the things I was doing actually mattered.
Though I'm not sure it will assist me in my degree, I have learnt a lot about audit and accounting and I have developed a lot personally.
The Company
I didn't actually spend a lot of time in the office as I was out on client site. Both of these had a good atmosphere and everyone was chatty and it was very easy to fit in with GT people.
It would've been better to know more about when we would fin out about graduate offers but apart from this I feel it was very organised and I always knew where I was meant to be and what I was meant to be doing.
We were taken on a course to Bradenham which for me was the best bit of the internship. It was great to meet other interns from across the country and I learnt a lot from the course.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a graduate job which I will be taking when I finish uni next year!
The Culture
We were invited out for drinks with associates and to the Manchester office summer BBQ. I went for lunch a few times and out with the interns from the north west offices.
I had to move to Manchester for my internship so I had to pay accommodation but living in Manchester was reasonable.
I went out a few times in Manchester and the nightlife was good.
We were invited to lots of social activities with the opportunity to join sports clubs.
