The Role
Excellent! Cannot wait to come back if I get the opportunity.
Couldn't have felt more welcome. No question was a stupid one. Everyone was happy to give me work to do and help me complete it.
Had a great support team who were very helpful in any questions I had about the internship.
Very busy! At points would have to stay quite late/ come in at weekends to complete project work.
Given responsibility to complete tasks, however I was not afraid to make mistakes as everything is checked by actuaries.
Planning and organisational skills are through the roof compared to before I started my internship
The Company
Plenty of fun to be had, but everyone knuckled down for deadlines etc.
Absolutely no problems in my 8 weeks.
Invites to training lunches meant for more senior students.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
100% get a job with Hymans!
The Culture
Great social scene within the grad students. Not so much amongst the other interns.
Great! Cheaper than home, and internship wage allowed me to fully immerse myself in Glasgow
Good, especially with other graduates
Yes, many relating to work such as GASS talks/ training sessions. But also purely sociable events like Friday drinks and five a side football
