The Role
I mostly enjoyed the 2 months, working felt like a social environment.
Everyone very friendly and treated like an equal, even by senior staff.
Support was always given if asked for.
Had some slow periods, especially when waiting on other people.
Given enough responsibility.
Presentation training likely to be useful in the future.
The Company
Atmosphere was friendly and chatty, but not quiet enough to be able to concentrate. People were generally relaxed and easy to talk to.
The Bank has been going through some big organisational changes which I felt were causing some upheaval.
They put a lot of emphasis on training.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Most interns get a job offer and / or masters sponsorship.
The Culture
Intern lunches daily, socials at least weekly and department socials every 2-4 weeks.
City of London is expensive but there are decent places around too.
Didn't go clubbing in the City, don't think there's much opportunity around. Plenty of bars though.
I didn't participate in any after-work activities that the Bank organised.
