The Role
I really enjoyed the 9 weeks I worked at UBS. I get on well with my team and was never bored.
I definitely felt valued. I was given projects and real work to do. I was part of the team, not an intern there to do the coffee and lunch runs.
I had a lot to learn when I first arrived and my manager and team helped me a lot and answered my questions. They also gave me guidance on my career path in general and tips for living in London.
It varied a lot. Somedays were quiet, others I would be really busy.
The skills I've developed will definitely be useful in later life and my career. Although they don't directly relate to my degree, many of the skills are transferable.
The Company
I was in a small team, so it was often quiet, especially given it was the summer holidays, but we it was still a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Very well organised. The first week of training ran smoothly and we were never left wondering what to do next. My manager and the graduate recruitment team kept us up to date on everything we needed to know that was happening with the internship.

In theory, if your team likes you and wants to hire you, you come back on the grad scheme. However with headcounts etc. it's not always that simple.
The Culture
Many of us lived together is student accomodation recommended by UBS. There were also intern socials which were a great opportunity to catch up with everyone.
Compared to the rest of the UK it was quite expensive, however for London it was very reasonable. The cost of rent did not break the bank.
There are a lot of bars near the office and a range of clubs not too far away
