The Role
Overall, the experience was certainly worthwhile. I have learned valuable skills and more importantly i have really enjoyed my time at UBS
I was involved in most projects being undertaken by team and was also given a lot of responsbility
I had regular 1:1 meetings with my line managers and was also set SMART objectives which were tracked.
In general i was busy as i had a number of personal projects to balance as well as tasks specific to the team. i believe that it is important to make time for self development however
A high amount. I was able to give presentations, talk to all levels of management and also participate in team projects. There is also a great scope to do more than the job description, as long as you are clear in your aims with your managers then they will do what they can to help
I have an improved knowledge of investment banking and financial markets and have also developed a number of soft skills: communication, networking, presentations and inter personal skills
The Company
It was very sociable, everyone in general is very friendly and understanding of your position as an intern
There is a week of training before you actually hit your desk. HR also organise a number of networking events and there are regular speakers
The first week is all about training and development. After that it is down to you and your Line Manager. In general the standard is high though

Yes, everyone is the same boat so there is common ground to build on. You also spend the first week together so its a good chance to get to know everyone
Its London, so high!
Its London, so good!
There are a number of community activities you can get involved with. I spent one day helping out at a sports day for children in Hackney
