The Role
Work was enjoyable, but atmostphere in the office a little dull
Everyone was friendly and polite, but too busy with work for socialising, even at lunch
She gave me a variety of useful tasks to complete, and for the most part left me to get on with them. About three times a week she would check in with me.
Not given enough tasks to complete, and the tasks I did complete I did a lot quicker than my colleagues were expecting
I helped create important documents and tools that other members of the team relied on for work
Learned lots about project management and vendor management which will help me in my career.
The Company
Everyone just got on with their work, occasional work social events (pub)
Very well set up, manager was very clued up on what I needed to do and the rest of the internship was run well
Mostly learned from the people I worked withh. Lots of online training too.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Hard to tell, constantly being told of the amount of 'slimming down' and cutting of employees to outsourcing. Obviously they will still be hiring though.
The Culture
Met up with other technology interns about once a week for lunch. Occasional intern events and went to the pub with them a few times.
London is expensive, but this is reflected in your salary. Choosing cheap student accomodation helps.
London has some of the best nightlife in the world!
Did some volunteering within the UBS volunteering scheme.
