The Role
I have really enjoyed my time here, it has been extremely sociable in comparison to other internships with lots of events organised for us enabling us to get to know each other well. This will prove very useful for our future careers.
I felt it was very easy to talk to my team members and ask them any questions that I had. I did not feel scared to ask anything and they always took extra time to explain things to me even when they were busy. My mentor was especially helpful and was extremely knowledgable.
As expected I was busier on some days than others, however this was useful as I could continue with my personal project in times I was less busy.
I was given much more responsibility from day 1 than other internships I have undertaken. I was given work that contributed to the teams deadlines, not just admin tasks as you would expect an intern to undertake.
The department I am in will really help me towards my masters as it has given me a strong level of base skills that I will be able to build upon when I learn the theory in detail. I also feel I am much more prepared when applying to jobs in this industry.
The Company
The office is generally quiet, however it is not intense or daunting. Everyone is really friendly and will introduce themselves, talk to you about your career and help you with anything.
In comparison to other internships I have undertaken I believe Savills is extremely well planned and set up. There are lots of events, all admin is under control and easy to undertake and everything seems to flow extremely well.
I believe this firm recognises that we could be the next graduates so they do seem to invest a lot in teaching you about the industry and nurtering you to be the best. The departmental overviews prove this as you have an opportunity to learn about departments other than that you have been given. You are also encouraged to speak to other team members and organise to move to other departments for a day/week or so if you have a keen interest in one.

I think with Savills, and any firm for that matter it really depends on your personality and how you fit in to the company culture. It would also depend on what department you are placed in and the type of people you are working with but I personally would love to work here. I am a very sociable person and love going to events and meeting new people and growing my network and I believe there is a real emphasis on that here. However there are also a lot of quieter people here who do not necessarily socialize as much, but they are just as important. I think there is a space here for most personality types if they are put into the right department.
The Culture
Very good! We always continued after social events, especially Thursdays in the city. We also mixed a lot with the graduates. Most of us will definitely be keeping in contact which will be really beneficial.
The cost of both these things is higher than average as you can expect in London. I am staying at home so it isn't as much for me in comparison to other people. Lunch costs can pile up though so it is good to be proactive and make lunches....and buy cereal to leave in the office to save money.
Quite good. In London it is generally Thursdays that city professionals go out and only one day away from the weekend so we usually go to bars/clubs on this night. They also usually have drinks deals on which can be really useful.
Some events and some sports opportunities. I would say however that only specific sports opportunities are available so if you are not into those you can't really get involved. Most of them are also in South West London which makes it difficult to get home from if you aren't from there...therefore you don't take part in them as much. More emphasis should be put on inter-savills sports rather than against other firms...encouraging people who aren't amazing to get involved.
