The Role
Had a buddy (current grad) and a mentor (more senior) and had regulary meetings with mentors. Everyone willing to help out and talk to interns.
How busy I was depended on the time of the month due to being a finance department.
Was very happy with the amount of responsibility given to me as it gave me the chance to show I was capable of completing these tasks and working in this environment.
Have already graduated so cannot assist my studies but knowledge built up will be very useful when starting my career.
The Company
Friendly environment to work in, everyone willing to help out each other.
Had set up intern/placement student work and social events and some brief training days. Could have known a little more about the internship during the application process though.
Three days training about general finance in the first week and then had numerous lunches with team-managers in the finance department to learn about the department as a whole. No financial investment in training but had invested by giving us the responsibilites.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Hoping to get on the 2015 graduate scheme.
The Culture
Met up with other interns/placement students at company-run work and social events but also met up more often on our own accord.
Lived at home during my internship and commuted.
Took part in a community volunteering day but there was also numerous more opportunities to take part in.
