The Role
Great place to work, however there was often quiet periods when there was little work for me to do
I was welcomed into the team from day one
We had a monthly meeting to catch up on my progress and any questions I had were always answered.
It varied from being really busy one week to having almost nothing to do another week.
I was often left to manage projects on my own and had to liaise with various people to ensure what I was working on was heading in the right direction for the client.
The work itself was mostly a step down from what I had been doing at University. What I did gain was personal skills. I'm more confident, can manage my time better and most of all know what to expect from a job in a large organisation now
The Company
There was always some activity or another being planned
There was plenty of support, including a personal development manager who's only job was to ensure you were getting the most out of the palcement
There was no external training, but there were a few internal training days
Flexi Time
Working from home
Good pay and good chances for progression
The Culture
Often met up on weekends for nights and days out
Not too bad, but mroe expensive than a lot of places
In Winchester it' mostly pubs, but there are several clubs in Southampton
There was a scheme called giveback that encouraged employees to spend some of their work time giving back to the community, either through volunteering or through visiting schools and universities
