The Role
I really enjoyed my summer at enterprise, there's always a great atmosphere making it a fun place to work.
When working in the branches there is usually a small number of employees, meaning you have to be relied on and valued, otherwise the branch couldn't operate.
There is an extensive 2 day training programme at the start of summer to give you an idea of what you will be doing. But, the employees in the branch are always more than happy to provide assistance to help because they have all been through the same experiences themselves.
All of the Enterprise branches are very busy, meaning that there is always something to do, whether that be serving customers, or behind the scenes work, there is never a boring moment.
Enterprise give you so much responsibility, by the end of my summer I was given similar resposnibilities as the assistant manager and was trusted to open up and close the branch. This is not a internship for cleaning cars, you are given as much responsibility as the Management Trainees of the company!
The skills I learnt were invaluable, I have found I am so much more prepared for my university course after the internship because I can apply so many practical aspects from enterprise to my theoretical course. It is also a massive confidence booster because of the responsibility you are given and the job role itself requires confidence.
The Company
The atmosphere was always great, that was the reason everyone is motivated to go into work in the mornings and remain motivated throughout the day
The internship is very well organised because the interns are given the same style of experience as the graduates, so there is a clear structure and pathway to success to the internship.
We were given one-to-one training throughout the summer by the other employees, which is much better than off the job training because you were getting experience of the different processes too.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very appealing. I have been asked to come back next summer and build on my progress from my 1st year, in order to be fast-tracked to an assistant manager role after graduation. There is also lots of opportunities to get involved with enterprise when you are back at university, either working in a branch near your university and/or working as a Campus Brand Manager.
The Culture
There was a great atmosphere with the other interns during the training program and there are also meals and nights out organised (and paid for) by the company which helps you to get to know more people.
Because ERAC has so many branches all over the country I was able to live at home.
There was many opportunities for us to get together as a branch/region for socialising
If you hit targets then there are all expenses trips to main attractions across the UK, inluding Alton Towers, Edinburgh Fringe, etc. There was also parties organised within regions to celebrate our success.
