The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. Although there were times when work was a bit quiet, in general I was heavily involved in projects.
Very valued. Everyone was very friendly, and keen for me to help them with their work.
Line manager was excellent - gave me regular feedback, and we often collaborated on projects
My workload varied. There were times when i was very busy, but in general the work was not too heavy unless I really went out and looked for it.
I was allowed to head up some projects, and have significant supporting roles on others
Hard to say at the moment, as I haven't returned to study, but I have no doubt that my time here will help me immensely, particularly when it comes to graduate jobs
The Company
The office was quiet and studious, but with a friendly atmosphere that was occasionally more chatty. Everyone was always willing to answer questions
Very good set up. Line manager had projects lined up for me when I arrived, and regularly updated my work load
I was given the freedom to direct my own development, with the company supporting me in this regard, and paying my expenses at times
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Very appealing - there is a great deal of the business I have yet to be involved with
The Culture
Other placements were very friendly, but evenings tended to be quiet.
They paid for our accommodation. Socialising was expensive
Quiet
Played some sport with work colleagues
