The Role
9/10 really enjoyed it. the other interns were great, and the people that I worked with were very encouraging and friendly. I learned a lot and the skills were completely different to those I had taken from University
9/10 I was really welcomed into the team. They gave me important work to do, and were always very appreciable of what I had done. I feel like I contributed to the team, and even when I was doing some less important work, they still made sure to be grateful to me for having done it.
10/10 Centrica is a hugely supportive place to work. We set clear objectives at the start of the placement and had regular reviews to make sure I was on track to achieve them. Having my objectives laid out like this meant that I always knew what I was working towards, which was nice!
8/10 I was in a team where there was a lot to learn, so I was sometimes reliant on other people to explain things to me. However, the work I was doing always kept me busy, and I was able to take online courses and learn of my own accord when there was not anything specific to do.
7/10 i was given responsibility in the sense that my work was important to the functioning on the team, but not so much responsibility that I felt daunted by the task. I think this was good. In a different role that was less specialised i may have been able to take on more responsiibility perhaps.
9/10 learned lots of very useful skills about the business and also specific excel skills. I learned more soft skills too like communication, and giving presentations, which I don't really have to do at University. THis will really help me in my future career.
The Company
8/10 my office had quite a big responsibility to keep the IT working for the business, so there was always things happening. There was lots of communication between the people who worked here, and they were very friendly to me. They had a laugh but were hard-working and took their work and responsibilities seriously.
9/10 very well organised. We always had lots of information, and went on development days and had training provided
9/10 lots of investment. There is a strong personal development culture at Centrica anyway. And we went on an intern development day, which was great. Also we had training in excel, presentation skills etc...

The Culture
9/10 yes, the other interns were all very nice. Also because we were all put up in the same accommodation we all socialised quite a lot.
3/10 luckily we didn't have to pay accommodation costs, but living in Windsor is very expensive!
6/10 had to drive / get a taxi to biggest local town.
7/10 we did charity fundraising and there was opportunity for sports in the evening
