The Role
It was a really great experience. I looked forwa
I felt very valued. I was placed in a small team and developed good realtionships with each of them. After a while, they would ask for my assistance on certain tasks/
My boss was great. He answered every question I had in great detail. This gave me the opportunity to work independently quicker
I was pretty busy most days. Occasionally I finished work early and there was no work, but I often had my presentation or other things to be getting on with.
I was surprised at the amount of responsibility I was given. I was in charge of many reports for management, and the pieces of work I produced were useful to the business.
I received presentation training and excel training. I learnt a lot about different reporting software, and have a greater attention to detail. The stats and thoroughness I learnt in my placement are key skills which I will carry forward into my degree.
The Company
I was based on the sales floor which was great fun. There was always a lively buzz and the friday morning tune was always fun.
It was very well organised. We were given so many opportunities to ask questions well in advance. The only disadvantage is not knowing where you're going to be placed unitl quite late on. This is compensated for by the provision of accomodation.
They invested a lot. we had a team training day which was a lot of fun. The accomodation I received was to a very high standard. The presenting with impact session was such a useful skill to learn about. I learnt so much about how to do a presentation.

Getting a place on the graduate scheme would be a great opportunity as it gives the chance to do 3 placements and really get to know alot about the analyst role and Centrica the company as a whole.
The Culture
Being in Oxford I was the only intern there. However the interns in Staines/Windsor seemed to know each other well and had a really good time and there appeared to be a good social scene.
Oxford is not cheap. It is beautiful though!
Being a student time there is always a good nght out going on somewhere in Oxford.
There was the charity challenge and a networking lunch.
