The Role
The placement was an extremely worthwhile experience, that varied on a daily basis.
The team were very welcoming, giving me full responsibility from day one.
The managers provided excellent guidance and support, and were always keen to offer help whenever required.
The role had a reasonably high level of work and the team were always happy to introduce new tasks when work level was low.
As I do not study accounting the technical aspect will not particularly help in my degree studies, but the general business acumen will come in useful as will the general knowledge of how a multi-national company operates.
The Company
Generally the atmosphere was relaxed and had a comortable level of noise.
The role has been running for a few years so the placement year was excellently organised.
Where possible I was sent on training courses, and given the opportunity to attend graduate events. The company invested lots considering I was only a fixed term employee.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
There are possibilities to apply for the various graduate schemes or just a permanent role in the company.
The Culture
During the year there were a number of social events both with employees, and other placement students/graduates.
Rent is very cheap in Brough as are general living costs.
Brough only has a few pubs, but about Hull City Centre is only about 20 minutes away which has lots of bars and clubs etc.
BAE is involved with many charity fundraising events.
