The Role
A great company to work for. Everyone in the building is friendly and willing to help and support. The work I was given was challenging and enjoyable.
I always had a helping team around me, no-one was 'too busy' to help. I felt like my colleagues were my friends as well as co-workers.
The Management team were very helpful and supportive. I experienced a few changes in the department but never felt forgotten.
Certainly not overloaded/overburdened with boring, unfulfilling work. The work I was given was a challenge, and I had deadlines to meet, as well as daily queries/tasks to get on with, keeping me busy. It is always better having something to do than nothing!
I was given a lot of responsibility on many projects from day 1, which was really enjoyable. I feel like I thrive under pressure so this really helped. In no way did I feel like a placement student - I felt committed to the long term future of the company.
I have certainly improved in confidence while at Toyota. Presentation skills, motivation, working in a team are a few others. I have also developed my administration skills and my proficiency in the Microsoft Office package, as well as experience with Learner Management Systems.
The Company
A hardworking team who could also have fun when needed.
I was set up with daily/weekly/monthly tasks to get on with, as well as weekly one-to-ones. However I had plenty of spare time to develop my own role, which is a good thing, and something I have been able to pass on to the new student.
We certainly get invested in as students. We are treated as real members of staff, our commencement of work is celebrated with a Corporate Induction as well as Mandatory training to get set up.

Its a good graduate recruitment process - Toyota only hire their graduates from the placement intake. You will be considered on your Annual Review score, a PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) Project and then invited to a Graduate assessment center. From then on, you may be offered a job.
The Culture
Really good social scene - the students meet for lunch every day at 1. Toyota is located on the outskirts of London and many students live close to the workplace so there is plenty of opportunity to go out!
Lived at home and commuted. As it is based in London the prices are quite high.
If you go in to London then it is great!
The sports and social club put on many events throughout the year. Also there are sometimes opportunities to go to big events around London if you get in quick enough.
