The Role
I enjoyed it a lot. The work was varied and I received good support from the team.
Every piece of work I did I recieved good feedback with the option to go over my work and re-check it.
My team leader and my buddy were both very supportive, alongside the analysts in the team. I always felt I could ask questions if I needed.
I wasn't as busy during the first four weeks however this picked up a lot in my last 4 weeks.
I was given more responsibility as time went on.
I am not sure the technical skills will be transferable into my degree.
The Company
The atmosphere is very friendly and calm however everyone works very hard. There is scope for having a chat with the other analysts which is nice.
Quite organised. I liked having the extra tasks such as charity fundraising and a group project wiht the other regionals. Possibly it would have been good to have a more scheduled timetable.
A lot of investment. We recevied training on technical softare, other Mercer business lines and things like ESG and Responsible Investing. The plan is to study CFA if offered the graduate role which is a huge bonus.
Very appealing
The Culture
Okay social scene, could be a bit more lively.
Edinburgh is expensive.
Good bars and restuarants. Clubs aren't as good.
Not many.
