The Role
I enjoyed this placement very much - the company is very friendly and good at keeping the work interesting. There was an excellent intern event also.
The company is very friendly, and those I work closely with made me feel valued. I didn't have much interaction with the employees outside of my team.
Metaswitch provides a mentor who sits next to you and is willing to take any of your questions whenever they arise. They told me that if anything, I didn't ask enough questions!
I always had work to do and rarely got bored. The tasks were interesting and engaging.
I was encouraged to take ownership of the project I was working on. It will also be incorporated into the real product and possibly even sold to our customers!
I learned a lot throughout this internship and I think they will serve me well in a job in this field.
The Company
The office is quiet and very hardworking. Everyone does their work and talks mainly about work.
The whole internship was very well organised and the organisers were always available to answer questions.
I received good feedback on my strengths and weaknesses and was encouraged to develop throughout the summer.
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I was offered a full-time job at the end of my internship.
The Culture
It was down to the interns to organised their own social activities, so this will depend on the individuals. The group I were with were reasonably sociable.
I live in the area already, so I'm perfectly used to it. It's not the cheapest place on the planet.
The nightlife is good, I think. It's not something I'm interested in, though!
It was mainly down to me to organise my time outside of work. There were a couple of organised work social events.
