  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Very enjoyable, was given responsibility to work towards the completion of a piece of work that is valuable to the bank

    • The were very happy to help and invest time in my work

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • Given support and helped find solutions and training to increase my knowledge

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Work was left to be structured by myself, which meant that you could make yourself as busy as you like but ultimately you have to complete a project with a defined scope. Flexi-time means that you can choose how you structure your days and weeks.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • A great deal of responsiblity. I was given the opportunity to lead external meetings, make my own analysis. There was never a situation where I was being micro-managed

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Strong emphasis on writing skills which will be invaluable going forward. The opportunity to present in front of large groups of people means that you can devleop these skills in a more practical context than university presentations

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Very friendly, collegiate atmosphere

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • Well organised, although the admin prior to the internship is a bit of a chore. Hard to get a reply to emails sometimes to.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • Lots of investment with the oppportunity to go on training courses and seminars most days of the week that are very interesting. My manager invested time in ensuring that the internship was very enjoyable and a valuable experience for me.

    • Good, although have concerns about progression within the organisation

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Great social scene amongst fellow interns. Good to have under 20 final year and postgrad interns which you means you know everybody without feeling too daunted by the sheer size of the group

    • City so expensive!

    • Good, you're in london

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • Sports clubs although not necessarily there for very long.
