The Role
Very friendly team. In this role you interact with many different people within the business and are constantly learning.
At first you are learning all about oil and its properties, as you learn more you start to feel your value within the team and collegues.
Line manager is very helpful and regularly met about performance and any issues, issues quickly resolved with help from the team. Towards the end of the year nearing the final appraisal the Line Manager was especially great.
Can be varied, but always work to do. During quieter times there are other ways to get involved and other projects to help in. During extremely busy times everyone mucks in and lends a hand to relieve the pressure.
Increased throughout the year as I got more experience. Within the team everything is double checked by someone else before it is published (Everyone has thier worked checked).
The graduate rescouring team run a series of activites throughout the year to help you develop key skills. BP run in-house training daily for employees so any areas of weakness can be identified and you can book a relavent course. This ranges from Excel/Word training courses to specific company related activities.
The Company
The people you sit with are all very fun and have great sense's of humour, at times it can be quiet when many people are away on business.
Generally works well, once the Summer Interns leave contact from the graduate team tends to drop. This got started again toward the end of the internship with Appraisals were due. The job itself has a 1 week handover from the previous intern and 2 weeks of training with members of the team. This role has been running for many years under the Line Manager so the initial period is well rehearsed and works well.
Some personal development was put on. Otherwise it is up to you to seek it and seek training.

The Culture
Not there is only one year long placement student. The graduates you work with occasionally get together and there are occasional team socials.
Central London, enough said.
Canary Wharf has a variety of bars, from Weatherspoons to £6 a pint lounges. Easy reach of the West end and Westminster to mix it up.
Some sports teams, but not much out of work activities.
