The Role
Here at ARM we have a multi-cultural environment comprising by great individuals and high-skilled dedicated professionals. They are all very friendly and happy to share their knowledge with you.
Everyone has strengths and weakness but the team acts as one, a single mechanism that is well determine to solve any problem that might occurred. By the end of the placement I've managed to master a few areas in which some of my colleagues having more experience than me were seeking my advice.
All members of the team where very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to get me up to speed and support me to accomplish my tasks, that were assigned to me.
I have always had enough work load but the atmosphere at work is rather relaxing,
I've been lead developer for a project, resolved critical issues for the systems (both internal and external customer facing) that are under our responsibility.
This experience can't really be compared with anything. I have probably learnt more in 10 months during the placement than in two years of study. I've learnt and improved so many skills that I can't list them all, from soft skills to technical skills. It is one of the best things ever happened to me and I've managed to build a solid foundation
The Company
The atmosphere was rather relaxing.
It was very well organised.
I haven't asked for any formal training but they are more than happy to do so. In our team we had a weekly presentation were the most knowlegeble person in one particular area was giving us a deep overview of the system.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
It is very appealing and well earned, I have ended up with a Graduate IT position at the end of my internship.
The Culture
We had several events and the interns group is quite tight. The social experience is very good and I made acquaintance with other interns that made me aware of other areas of the business.
This is Cambridge and the living cost is quite high but you can afford to go out and socialise with people. The experience gathered during your placement cant't be compared to anything and I truly think one should get his/her priorities straight.
I'm not a big fan of the outings but I went several times with my colleagues. Cam is fun and theres a lot of places to go to.
Team ARM is one of them.
