The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the internship and am very glad the FSA offered me the placement, I hope I get on the grad scheme.
My team were nothing but wonderful and made me feel very welcome. Despite my lack in technical knowledge I always felt valued and felt like I contributed to the team efforts.
It was always explained to me from the beginning that I would be given responsibility and would assist the more experienced actuaries on firm projects rather than just writing minutes and doing admin.
The Company
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
The FSA is facing a very interesting and challenging time with the restructure of the company into the PRA and CPMA. I have been made to feel there is a future here.
The Culture
All the interns had an email distribution and we usually met up a few times a week for drinks and going out. We had lunch together, although not always the 40 of us together! I feel by the end of the internship I have made some long term friends.
I am from London so the cost is no different than usual for me. It isn't cheap but I don't find prices extortionate.
I enjoyed outside activities with both the interns and my colleagues.
