The Role
I worked within the RBS Group Finance Function and obtained a breadth of exposure into the roles and responsibilities of my team.
The team was cohesive and my contributions were valued
The communication with my line manager was excellent and I was able raise my doubts and ask relevant questions at ease.
Typical 9am-5pm job in which I was kept fairly busy on a day-to-day basis. I would set weekly meetings with my line manager to outline the work that needs to be done by the end of the week.
The skills I gained did not pertain to my degree but were highly relevant to working in a professional job. E.g. Excel, project reports and a limited degree of presentation skills
The Company
The internship was extremely well structured and organised.
An excellent induction and training program. Online courses and plenty of opportunities to interact with current graduates.

Great place to work at and would love to come back to RBS as a graduate. However, the finance function did not particularly appeal to my personal interests.
The Culture
Interns were friendly and easy to get along with.
Much cheaper than London, but Edinburgh can get expensive during the Fringe Festival
Edinburgh has a great vibe in the summer, especially with the fringe festival going on!
