The Role
The actual work I was doing want the most interesting, however the projects I was involved with were.
Everyone I did work for was appreciative.
Everyone I asked was willing to give help and guidance.
The first few weeks were slow to get work but after that I was kept busy.
I was getting involved with management reporting to the client by the end of the placement.
Mainly it will be project work at uni that will benefit from skills I have learnt, how to conduct myself as a project leader and manage others.
The Company
Was a fairly casual atmosphere with people chatting but also quiet at times when everyone is busy.
There were a few hiccups at the start which took a few weeks to get started with access to files and software, but I had work waiting for me on the first week.
Only did a few tutorials on CAD software.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Wouldn't be running back as I don't think the kind of work I was doing is really for me, but would strongly consider it if I got offered a graduate scheme.
The Culture
There were monthly socials organised.
Birmingham centre is fairly expensive, but I commuted from home. So living costs I'm not sure about.
Pretty good, big uni city.
Not much at all, a few sorting activities only.
