The Role
Great chance to experience the world of accountancy. I learnt a lot about the division and the firm and had the opportunity to meet and work with a group of talented employees.
My colleagues would get me involved in as much work as possible, ensuring that I got a lot out of the internship. They always reviewed my work and gave me valuable feedback.
Whenever I needed help with something, the managers and partners were always there to offer me support, regardless of how busy they were.
There was always enough work to keep me busy throughout the day.
From day one, I was given real work that contributed towards tax returns. It was good to be given the same work and responsibility as of a full-time graduate.
I developed a wide range of skills over the six-week period, most of which will help me in my degree. The firm took us to their own training facility and helped us improve our presentation skills- something that is vital to my very own degree path.
The Company
Everyone was friendly and made me feel part of the team.
It was very well organised. During the six weeks there were many social events planned for us to get a chance to socialise with fellow interns and managers outside the office.
The firm took us to their very own training facility, where we took part in courses that helped us develop key skills that are necessary for the accounting world.
I was offered a full time position at the end of the internship.
The Culture
We often went out together after work, sometimes arranged by the firm and sometimes by ourselves.
As we were working in the centre of London, naturally it was quite expensive. However, the events that were organised by the firm were paid for.
Being in central London, there is always something to do!
We were strongly encouraged to take part in community work, which was another opportunity to get out of the office and get our hands dirty. Additionally, we were able to take part in the J.P. Morgan run.
