The Role
I was fortunate enough to work on a variety of projects over the summer internship and the different pieces of work were all interesting and enjoyable.
I was treated like another member of staff and not an intern. I was included in meetings, given responsibility and invited to social events.
Everyone was happy to help me, though I would need to approach them first and acknowledge where I needed help.
Over my internship I had a mixture of both longer and shorter term deadlines meaning I also had a mixture of busy days and more laid back days. I was rarely bored at work, and if I was I would ask colleagues in the department and find something I could help them with to fill my time.
More responsibility than expected. I was asked to implement some of my ideas towards the end of my placement.
The organisational and project planning skills I have learnt will prove invaluable throughout my working life.
The Company
I was part of a very fun and sociable department who made me feel incredibly welcome.
The overall internship programme could be better organised, though this did not detract from my day to day activities, work and enjoyment.
I was enrolled in various training schemes and dialled in to various training conference calls.
Financial Bonus
If you impress on your internship you are likely to be offered a place on the graduate scheme.
The Culture
Fantastic social opportunities both with my team and with other interns.
London is an expensive place to live and socialise, but the internship pays well enough for you to cope with this.
London, understandably, is home to some brilliant pubs, bars and clubs.
I was involved in two charity days with colleagues.
