The Role
I really liked the work environment, and the project was quite interesting. I found some parts of it a bit tricky, like learning the way the company develops code, which is different to what uni shows us.
My team took my input seriously, and the input was valued highly.
I had an ongoing mentor, who helped me with a lot of issues i was stuck with. He was sometimes busy though.
Fairly busy, some days more than others, as they had meetings or talks.
I was given a lot of responsibility, being the only one to work on the project, which was good, and you can see all of the effort you put in.
I learned the tools the company uses, and learned how to produce more professional code, i also developed from a personality aspect, as i talked to people who knew a lot of how the company worked.
The Company
a nice relaxed environment with open desks, and everyone was eager to help, unless they were super busy
It was organised quite well, with a few hiccups along the way, but mostly fine.
The firm has a lot of training manuals, mentors, and people to shadow, so you could really learn more about anything you were interested in.
Flexi Time
Healthcare from home
If the internship is successful you are put on the graduate scheme, and after that you have a job.
The Culture
Yeah, we'd meet every day for lunch, and chat with lync, the chat system of the firm.
Not too expensive, living is around £400 a month, and socialising isn't too expensive either
Very good, as it is Glasgow.
Yes, they set up lots of groups for various interests.
