The Role
I absolutely loved my team! It was daunting initially, but everyone opens up really quickly and always willing to help.
My colleagues were always seeking ways to improve me, giving invaluable advice when they can. The task I am assigned to are challenging but that only means my colleagues value my presence and trust that I can manage.
My managers/supervisors never failed to answer my queries whenever needed. They constantly make time for me, despite their busy schedule.
I was always kept on my toes with work. Though, there were times to socialise. My colleagues knew how to balance work and play.
I wasn't given much client facing roles. However, I was given tasks whereby it was directly for the clients - that made me feel valued.
The task I was given has definitely enhanced my analytical skill - a skill required at university. I did Mathematics and Finance. Alot of my work involved terms that I've seen/learned at school. Putting theory into practice was a great experience!
The Company
Definitely a great balance of work and place. I meet new people almost everyday. Everyone smiles at me even if I do not work directly with them.
Super! HR did an amazing job organising events for us. Eg. networking events and Global Speaker Series (talks broadcasted live from New York) without disrupting our Business-As-Usual tasks.
Plenty, The firm organised events which enhance skills we would never learn in the classroom or at our desk. Eg. networking skills. We were also each assigned a mentor (An Executive Director or Managing Director) who speaks to us on a regular basis. They invested their time in ensuring we make the most of our internship.
Company Parties/Events
Definitely go for JP Morgan. They have a great culture!
The Culture
Perfectl! There was a good balance of time with fellow interns as well as more senior colleagues.
Pretty expensive. Then again, it is London!
Pretty decent. Plenty of pubs around.
Definitely. I participated in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge - a running charity event; and Corporate Social Responsibility where I helped clean Victoria Park.
