  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Really good experience, gave a proper insight into working as an engineer

    • very valued they offered help when I had problems

    • they gave support on queries I had and made sure I was comfortable with the work I was doing and I wasn't out of my depth

    • fairly busy doing different tasks most days

    • amount of responsibility grew as the placement went on

    • helped me see how the work we do in lectures is used in real life and the work I've done on the placement will help me in my next few years at uni

    • A good working environment

    • the placement was really well organised, I was assigned to a project straight away

    • Completed a series of online training modulus that would help me on the placement and ones that weren't directly relevant to the placement

    • I'd like to work here again in the future, they have great graduate opportunities available and help to get chartered

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Yes I knew some from university and meet other at graduate talks and a site visit that was organised for summer students

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • reasonable as I go to university in Birmingham and my placement was in Birmingham I was able to live in my student house making it really cheap to live in birmingham

    • Central Birmingham and Selly Oak so always plenty to do

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • There was a summer social while I was on placement
