The Role
It is a good way to gain exposure to business activities if you are lacking experience. It also offers a good opportunity to perform well and be recognised. The hours are long and the pay is low in relation but it is a good platform from which to start a career in Enterprise or other commercial environments. There is also a clear route for progression if desired.
I was only there for 3 months and found that the majority of staff are good to be around and happy to help. The workforce is young and consists of graduates which started their career on the Management Trainee scheme also.
Management were informative and happy to answer questions
It was the busiest time of the year when I worked at Enterprise so this was a good way to learn quickly.
I found myself doing a lot of driving and car cleaning which is a large part of branch life. If I was there longer I'm more responsibility would have been granted.
Seeing financial statements was relevent to the finance module studied in my first year.
The Company
The atmosphere in the branch was positive but mostly busy and sometimes stressfull. on the whole we had a laugh and were productive.
There was regular training with a work manaul given to me to work through during my time. The manual could also be continued if I returned to Enterprise.
I was sent on various training seesions at the head office. The training was enjoyable and practical.
Progression is encouraged and is directly linked with performance.
The Culture
Other Management Trainees were of a similar age so the social aspect is good.
Charity events are encouraged as well as staff nights out.
