  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement at M&G investments, I enjoyed the culture, location, and the people I worked with.

  • Very valued, I was given real tasks that had actual business value.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I attended the training seminars in finance they offered to get myself up to speed with the industry, as well as being given many opportunities for growth and development.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I started out slowly, and then became busier the more I learnt and the more I became involved with different aspects of the company.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A fair amount, not to much as to be daunting for someone new to the industry, but enough so that I got real satisfaction from my tasks.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt more in the past year than I did in my first two years of Uni, both technically and professionally.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Relaxed and busy at the same time. I was given the freedom to set my own pace and take initiative in the things I was interested in. The culture is one of the top perks of working at M&G.

  • Very well organised, they have many placements, interns, grads etc so they have a set structure for each.

  • I was given financial training as well as professional training. You are given training as your role requires it.

  • Very appealing, I hope to go back for the graduate scheme.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, there are quite a few work parties, and HR set up quite a few events for the interns and placements to get to know each other as well as the company.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite high, I lived in central London.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very good, as the offices are very central as so close to 100's of bars and clubs.

  • Yes, there was always someting to do.
