The Role
Work was usually quite interesting, nice office atmosphere
Was actually doing important jobs and was trusted to see them through to completion myself
Weekly status meetings, but could just turn around and ask my manager any questions I had at any point during the day
We had a list of tasks that needed to be done, and did one of them each at a time, so never had too much to do, and when finished just moved onto the next one
Responsible for actually writing and testing parts of the product that were then sold
Reasonably specialised networking management knowledge won't be too helpful with a maths degree...
The Company
Quite a lot of jokes and fun chat throughout the day
Received emails most days for the first few weeks checking that everything was as it should be, heard about most details of arrival a month or so in advance
Could basically ask my team about anything, but not too much specific training given
Flexi Time
Financial Bonus
If I fancy doing software engineering then this company is definitely high up on the list of ones to consider
The Culture
Only had two other interns in this office, so not much, but they were both very friendly!
Living was heavily subsidised by the company, but the area is very touristy, so quite expensive to go out for dinner/drinks
It's a student town, so pretty great (I'd imagine)
Played badminton weekly, but not too much
