    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It was absolutely amazing. From the very first day I have been put to work. I started off shadowing the previous interns and by the end of the week I was working alone. I got a complete run down of the company and the market, as well as learning numerous new skills.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The people are The Walt Disney Company could not have been more welcoming. At all times people were patient with me, answered all my questions, reviewed my work, and continuously helped me out. At times other workers are stressed and can at times take it out on you but that can be expected in all jobs.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a weekly catch up ever week and was told to come into the office and review any work that I had produced so far.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the beginning I wasnt very busy then as more and more people started sharing the work load with me I became much busier. Although it can be stressful it is great experience and really helps you learn how to manage your time and work load.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot!! From the start!! You are given trust from the beginning, although managers check your work at the start they check it less and less as time goes on. But you are expected to produce work to a high standard from the start.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Although there was no official training programme I did have a 2 week hand over with the previous intern who showed me what was expected of me. I also had a intern handover book. Attended an introduction day, and constantly received helped from collogues.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere was very friendly, welcoming, but with a lot of hard work taking place. People were really happy to help, stop for a chat, or share with you.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well. From the day I started there has been regular check ups, work load reviews, and planned new tasks.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel the firm invested a lot into me. Not only did I receive a decent wage for the year, I also got a huge amount of attention from the manager who helped me with every little thing. I also got to go into a new department in order to see how different part of the business worked and to give myself a chance to meet and work with new people.
