The Role
Amadeus was a great experience for me as I discovered the world of B2B marketing and IT. I was given important tasks and managed online communities to improve information. I was placed in a very interesting department and got along very well with my colleagues. I hope to work there again in the future.
I was always valued for my work and always got very good reviews from my manager and various people accross the department. I was always willing to take on new tasks and did not hesitate to offer some help during free time, which greatly helped my colleagues. My manager gave me an outstanding review and I would be welcome for a job there in the future.
I saw my manager very often to discuss on the tasks at hand and I was regularly involved in meetings to learn about products or marketing techniques. If my own manager was not available, I was welcome to contact someone from a different team to get help.
I often found that I had time on my hands between tasks, but tended to offer my colleagues some help on their own projects. There were some peak times where the workload was very time consuming.
I managed online communities and had regular contacts with company clients in order to do some problem solving. In addition to this, my main task was to conduct an opportunity study, which involved contacting various departments and conduct meetings. I also presented my work to clients and calculate costs and pricing for the product in question.
Having not yet started my 4rth and final year of studies, I do not know how much of my work experience will have helped my courses. I do hope it will give me further understanding of my course, and following my degree I wish to redirect my studies to the tourism industry
The Company
Every one was well involved in their projects, usually in teams or two or three within the department. Every one knew each other and the ambiance was usually very cheerful in the office.
I was given a lot of liberty as to what I did out side of my two main projects (the opportunity study and the online communities). I had regular follow-ups and presentations of my work to my manager, and also had discussions with managers for whome I was doing little tasks.
The company offered online trainings and large seminars on various departments in the company, and I was always welcome to attend. The department often held informative sessions on what was going on and information was readily available for me to learn about various topics.

Company Parties/Events
I have already reworked in the same team for a two week job as a temporary worker. This offer was extended by my senior manager, who worked out which type of contract I needed for the amount of time I would be staying. My manager also mentioned she would be glad to see me working for them again in the future.
The Culture
There was a large community of placement students (around 150 per year), and were all invited to a few social events organised by the company, but most of the socialising was outside of work seeing as Amadeus provided 3 weeks of accomodation in a Hotel, where a lot of them would make friends and rented flats in town together.
The French Riviera is a rather expensive place to live in, but we were able to juggle rent, food and extra activities. Socialising tended to be very expensive due to the price of clubs and bars in the south of France.
Very present but very expensive!
The company had a large amount of extra curricular activities for musicians, sport fans and gamers.
