The Role
The work is challenging but manageable, there is a good social scene amongst the interns, there are sports and activities at lunchtime and you still have time to yourself after work.
I was given a project that will actually be given to customers so although I worked slower than the rest of my team my work was valued. Interns are made to feel like a genuine part of the company.
You have a manager and a mentor to help you, the other members of my team were also more than happy to help.
Given my own project so I always had something to do but I wasn't pressurised.
You are given the same work that other members of the company would do.
Gain a real depth of knowledge about your area. Work is also varied so you gain a breadth of knowledge about software developing. At the beginning of the internship you are given a personal development plan and you having meetings once a week to see how you are progressing. I knew very little about programming before I came and I have learnt a lot.
The Company
The atmosphere is relaxed and good humoured. It is not a high stress place but equally you can get a lot of work done.
Very well, the companies experience shows by how well your time at the company is planned out to you on your first day. This is also very flexible depending on what you and your manager decide.
The company very much wants you to improve, that is the reason that you are there. Your personal development plan and the opportunities for interns to do further placements or get jobs is a testament to that.

As an intern you are trained to be a part of the organisation. Obviously competition is fierce but the path from intern to employee is very well trodden.
The Culture
This year the interns got on really well, we had a pub lunch every Friday and all ate lunch together on most days. We also got together outside of work.
Enfield is pretty cheap compared to the rest of London but not compared to the rest of the country, I did not live in a company house.
Either you stay in the company houses or take a train down to central London. Enfield isn't really known for its bars and clubs to say the least.
There were sports, including inter-company matches. I played football with the company as well as trying Ultimate Frisbee for the first time and a bit of Badminton. There is a huge variety of things to do.;
