The Role
The summer scheme is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to apply for a graduate job with Savills. The placement gave me a huge insight into the company and there was lots of flexibility to speak to different departments.
I felt valued by my colleagues.
My colleagues appeared to take a real interest in what I was doing and were great at giving me advice. I had meetings with many of the management team who were very generous with their time when they could be. My supervisor was supportive although sometimes it was difficult because he was not based in the same office I was working in.
Some days were busier than others.
I think I was given a good level of responsibility during the placement.
The placement allows you to develop lots of different skills which are not just specific to the property sector but transferable skills as well
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in the office where everyone was very friendly and helpful both with myself and with other colleagues.
There were some occasions where I think there was a miscommunciation between the head office and the office I was based but overall the graduate team were very helpful.
My colleagues were very patient in teaching me skills I can continue to use, especially with IT.
Company Parties/Events
Savills is an excellent company and one where I would love to work! The placement is very useful in getting a better understanding of the company in order to improve employment prospects with them.
The Culture
I was the only student on placement at the time in my office.
£12 a week on the train. There are lots of very reasonably priced cafes for lunch in the area.
The nightlife is great.
There were lots of social events throughout my time with Savills.
