The Role
It was a really good experience, had a lot of hands on experience, and the opportunity to work with clients
Everyone in the office was really friendly, and appreciation is shown whenever work is done
Managers and supervisors are all really helpful and approachable, they are more than willing to help if you go there with any of their concerns.
There was always work to be done, sometimes when there was a deadline the team would have to work late nights.
On the placement I was given quite a fair amount of responsibility. I was given the opportunity to work alone with the clients and also to given the responsibility of being in charge of some work papers.
As I am doing an accounting and finance degree, the insight from audit definitely help me to make the theorectical knowledge come alive and more practical.
The Company
General atmosphere is quite friendly and conducive as a work place.
The work placement had a good mix of work at clients site and work at the office, so it was quite a good balance.
Personal training at the start to get some insight about basic accounting and audit.
Subsidised Canteen
Employments prospects seem quite positive and the organisation is actively seeking to hire talented individuals.
The Culture
The department was really friendly and there were socials almost every week. It was a good opportunity just to get to know other people and to catch up with some friends.
The cost of living and socialising in the area is average, not excessively expensive or absurdly cheap. There was a good range of bars in the area.
The nightlife in the area was good, the surrounding area had a number of bars and nice restaurants to go to after work.
For the interns we had the opportunities to get involved with CSR activities and we had a CSR day which allowed us to do get involved with activities other than work.
