The Role
I had a brilliant year, worked with some great people and was given some interesting projects to work on.
With the responsibility I was given, I had to communicate and work with lots of people in the business - giving ideas and helping with projects.
I had monthly catch up meetings with my manager and had regular chats about how I was getting on.
This varied depending on the time in the month - the first and last week of every month was busier than the rest of the month.
From day 1 I was given responsibility. Month end tasks were important as that affects the rest of the team, uploading data to hmrc on a monthly basis as well as getting correct payment figures for suppliers.
I have learnt how to communicate with different people around the business, how the business works as well as how the finance department works.
The Company
It was a fun environment, everyone got on very well which makes the job more enjoyable.
I attended organised training days, HR met with all the interns together regularly and my day to day tasks were well explained
Training days, staff briefings etc enabled me to enhance my skills as well as get to know what happens in the business, such as launches, new models etc

As it is a relatively small company and department, there is no graduate scheme however if there was, I would definitely apply-it's a great company to work for
The Culture
There were 15 interns so there were quite a few social events organised throughout the year
Reading is slightly more expensive as it is close to London, but you definitely have money left over to socialise!
Lots of bars in reading which were popular with the interns
We occasionally went out for dinner or lunch with the finance team
