The Role
The internship was enjoyable and a great insight the industry
Great, I was treated like any normal member of staff
I was well supported during my internship - my manager was always available ask for help and we met for 1:1's regularly
Most days were filled entirely however inevitably there was times when I had finished all the current work given to me
I was given a project within the first few weeks and was told to treat it entirely as I would if it was my own business venture
My internship was very focused on helping me develop skills that would help in my university course and for the furture. Your input as to what would help, is definitely required
The Company
The office was very good, with no barriers between departments you could seek help from anyone. Everyone was friendly and open too
After the first two weeks, very well. The training was intensive and time consuming and as such inbetween times had no clear goals or work to do. Once settled in however the organization was clear
A lot, there was a constant focus on what I felt I needed to develop and what would help me. These aligned my goals for the internship
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Very good
The Culture
Everyone was very friendly and it was good networking with so many people. With other interns I've made some good friends
Living in Malmesbury made the cost of living very cheap. The rent was not dear and being able to walk to work saved on a tank of petrol every week!
There are a few pubs in Malmesbury where you could go for a few drinks and a meal. For nightlife though I had to go to either Swindon (a £20 taxi away) or stay in Bristol for the night
There were constant emails and notices about out of work activities but some of them did require you to know the right people first off.
