The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed this job!
I was made to feel part of the team from day one.
My line manager was very supportive, and would go out of her way to help me with my studies.
It varied from day to day
I was given lots of responsibility!
The skills I have gained during this placement are priceless - I have been given an insight into every aspect of a HR department.
The Company
I was based in the recruitment office with just one other, however we worked very closely with the operational HR team. Everyone had fun while they were working, and it was a good general atmosphere.
There was no structured timetable for my placement, however my manager made it very clear what I needed to be doing.
I could have applied for any internal training courses.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I would definitely come back. I am pretty sure they would have me back if the right job came up.
The Culture
There were no other placement students, but there were plenty of younger memebers of staff in the department that loved to socialise.
In slough the cost of living is quite high, but you do get a high cost of living allowance added on to your salary.
Hmm the nightlife in slough itself is pretty bad! There are plenty of great places to go in the surrounding areas.
There are lots of sports clubs etc in the area. If you are new to the area the staff in this department would be happy to show you around!
