The Role
We were given a lot of freedom to properly explore a project. The people are all friendly and supportive and there are a lot of interns, which makes things more fun.
Team spirit was great, but a very specific sort of person works here and it's sometimes difficult to break in without being that sort of person.
Everyone gets a manager and a mentor. Part of the mentor's job during the placement is to help their intern.
It's very much up to you how much work you do.
Everything is checked by someone else, but a lot of design was left up to me.
I learnt a lot in a specific area, but was only really introduced to one area of coding.
The Company
Great team spirit occasionally broken by a lot of stress
The HR department was great and set everything up almost perfectly
My mentor spent a lot of time training me
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
They give job interviews at the end of the internship. However, they are only looking for a specific sort of person and if you're not that sort of person, they're not looking to hire.
The Culture
Lots of interns living in company houses nearby
Near to London, so pretty expensive
Still pretty far from London
Lots of sports and activities to join
