    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship gave me a great insight in to what I wanted to pursue as a career. The whole experience was very enjoyable and would definitely recommend it to any who is interested in a career at UBS

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • This was something that is very attractive at UBS - it doesn't feel like you are part of a hierachy which is very good when it comes to learning from senior members and asking questions.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You were given line managers on each of your rotations who overlooked what you did and gave you feedback about what you were doing wrong and where you can improve. Everyone was willing to give you their time to help you learn as an intern.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Through out the interenship I was busy for the majority of it. Either you are working on projects set to you by your desk or you are going around shadowing people and asking questions then also you had the end of intership presentation to work on.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As an intern there is only so much responsibilty you can do without passing the necessary exams before hand. But I felt like I got a good feel for what I would be doing on the job when I could take responsibility.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The amount of skills and knowledge I have learnt from this intership have been second to none. This is the best opportunity to learn about a career in finacne as well as understanding financial markets.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was very good, it made it easy to come to office for the early starts and made you enjoy the job more so.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall internship was very well organised. There were social events for the interns for the majority of weeks which was really good to see other interns outside the office and relax.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • UBS invested a lot of time in to their interns which is a very appealing prospect of UBS, they are very much looking to give you as much help as you need in order for you to develop as much as you can in the 9 weeks of the internship.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Future employment prospects are very appealing.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a very good social scene between all of the interns especially with all of the social events which made it very easy for everyone to make friends with each other and make valuable contacts regardless of where everyone ends up working

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being a student in London already I already knew the prices of living in London. However, you are well compensated on the intership so the cost in relative terms in fine.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife around Liverpool street is very good with shoreditch just round the corner

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • You had chances to do what you wanted to do outside of work in the evening and the weekend.

    4/5
