The Role
It was a very enjoyable experience, my first in an office, and I'd would definitely do it again.
I felt the work I was doing contributed to the company and it was used by my colleagues.
My manager, Chris Tozer, was great in helping me settle into my internship and providing support throughout.
I had plenty of work to do, whilst maybe not as much as a full time employee, I was never sat around doing nothing.
I was entrusted with my own project and once it was done I had to present my work to my manager and managers manager.
I'm sure it will do as I've picked up several new skills that will help me in the future.
The Company
Good atmosphere, hard working yet fairly relaxed, people are always up for a laugh.
Very well, Metaswitch really cater for their interns and I really felt the interns were valued as an integral part of the company.
A lot, my manager was still teaching me things right up to my last day.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
I'd be very happy to work at Metaswitch in the future as they are a great company, however the exact work they do maybe isn't quite for me.
The Culture
Yes, the interns were all very friendly and I found a few who were interested in similar things to me.
Not too bad, Enfield isn't quite centre of London prices and the nearby Tesco was very cheap to get food from. Joined a tennis club as well which offered a good student deal.
Not sure, as I wasn't around at weekends at all I didn't really go out in Enfield throughout the summer.
Yes plenty, good sports most lunchtimes and then I joined a tennis club and regularly went to the golf range/cinema.
