The Role
Working at Lloyds Banking Group was an amazing experience!
The team is very welcoming and treat placement students like full-time analysts.
I was given regular feedback from my senior manager which took into account views of other colleagues.
Workload depends on the project - some projects required a significant amount of work, others less so. I was never left without work.
I worked on significant, value adding projects which made a difference to the company. The projects I worked on often required exposure to senior managers and directors.
Lloyds make a significant effort to develop placement students. I was given training, external courses and a personal development plan to improve my technical skills and softer business skills.
The Company
Professional and friendly. There was a obviously an emphasis on getting work done but you wonder around the office for a chat and coffee - everyone was very approachable.
The organisation from Lloyds was seamless, however I experienced one or two 'hiccups' with the external HR and recruitment agency Lloyds use for temporary placement students, however I always got paid on time!
Lloyds invest significantly on training and development. As mentioned I was put through various external and internal courses which developed my technical and softer skills. I was also given regular feedback which enabled me to develop specific areas.

I was given the opportunity to go on a 'fast track' assessment centre for the Risk graduate scheme, there are also non-grad-scheme analyst job offers (this is not guaranteed though).
The Culture
The team has a social committee which organise charity events, parties, away-days and other fun stuff! Aside from this there is a 5-a-side football team and regular nights outs.
n/a - I lived at home and commuted.
Regular events and nights out!
Lloyds are committed to charity work, which meant there was various opportunities to get involved in fund raising activities - I spent 2 days out of the office to support local charities and good causes. There was also an away day for team building, Christmas party, 5 day training in Birmingham, and a 2 day department forum.
