The Role
I enjoyed my placement more towards the end when I had earned more responsibility
I felt valued more by some members of my team than others. Again as the year went on I got to know my team better and understood my importance more.
I was given a lot of chance to use my own initiative . Support was given when i asked for it.
I was always quite busy, but i never had to stay late.
Some however, I don't think I was given as much as other placement students .
I learned lots of skills for when i return to uni. Panasonic gave me lodes of training as well which has really helped me boost my confidence.
The Company
Motivation was low at certain times of the year for various reasons. Within my team the atmosphere was quite focused on hitting targets. However I was in a young team so everyone was quite friendly.
The placement scheme was well organised, we had a handover period with the previous student and was put on lots of useful training courses straight away.
They invested quite alot in the placement students. We all had lots of opportunities for training and chances for observation on trips away etc where our presence wasn't truly necessary. .

Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I don't think there is a lot of room for me to join the company when i leave as I worked in a declining market and the company has a flat structure. I would like to experience working at a start up or a more risk taking company.
The Culture
Yes the placement students live together and we all got on really well.
Very good, reading is one of the cheapest parts of the south east.
Reading is a student town so there was a pretty good nightlife.
No so much for girls, a lot of the boys played football.
