The Role
Incredible experience and met lots of amazing people. Given lots of responsibility and exposed to many different areas.
Worked within a relatively big team in the Private Bank so helped do work for all members of the team. Everyone I worked with could't give me enough time and were more than willing to help, to make sure you could do more valuable things for the team.
Lots of support, expected to use your own initiative and use your network but management and the rest of the team were always willing to provide guidance if needed.
With working on a busy team, after the first of couple of weeks of getting used to the work, everyday was a busy day. We had a good balance of work for the team, HR events and networking throughout the bank. Hours within the Private bank were relatively good compared to other divisions but all depended on the desk and how much work that needed doing.
I was given relatively a lot of responsibility including researching for video call meetings. Work was always double checked before sending out to clients but we were given a lot more responsibility than originally expected.
The learning curve is huge. Joined Citi with basic knowledge and because everyone is so willing to help, you can learn so much within a short space of time. They are skills that I will be able to build upon riven further within my degree but also throughout my career. It also highlights which skills you need to improve on e.g. excel.
The Company
Great, fun atmosphere throughout the office. Could easily go between teams and desks to find out more about their work and everyone was always willing to give you time.
Extremely well organised. Training week was enjoyable and spent time with all the interns, followed by more specific training for your division. Mid term and final events organised by HR as well as weekly talks with members of the management teams from the PB and others around the bank.
Citi invest a lot in you. They organise a lot to further your training and invest a lot of time and effort to make the experience seamless as well to further your understanding.

Depends on the headcount each year, but if you perform well then it is more likely they will offer you a job.
The Culture
Yes, the interns organised various drinks/events etc and after work drinks on a Friday happened most weeks.
London prices!
On weekdays, Canary Wharf has a really good atmosphere and the bars are always busy. For nights out, most people went more central.
Various societies and clubs are available to join within Citi when you work there full time and there were different events on offer during the time I was there. e.g. art tours. You can choose to be as involved as you like.
