The Role
Really enjoyed it.
Felt like part of the team.
I was given the right level of support. I had weekly meetings with my line manager and monthly meetings with my mentor.
I was kept busy with a primary project and a series of smaller projects.
I was given lots of responsibility and liaised closely with a wide range of vendors and service providers.
The skills I developed were invaluable and will give me a great starting point when I graduate.
The Company
Good atmosphere. Lots of friendly people to talk to and a morning hub each day where the operations team would keep everyone informed of the offshore activities.
Very structured with a mid term and final assessment. I received the project brief around 3 months before starting the job.
They spent a lot of time developing me and gave me the relevant training I needed at the beginning. I was also given the opportunity to attend site visits to service companies and the St Fergus Gas Terminal.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. I received a job offer on my final day.
The Culture
Yes. Lots of interns and we all stayed in university accommodation together. The Shell Energie network also has lots of events that you can get involved in such as rugby, football, ceilidh.
Quite expensive in Aberdeen but the pay covered the costs easily.
Good night life. Lots of clubs and bars.
Every day there was a different type of activity on.
