The Role
My placement year was the best part of my University degree. It allowed you to put the things you had learnt from University into practice.
As the placement went on I was given more and more work, highlighting the value that I was adding. They were all really helpful throughout and it was evident that it was a job, not just a "placement job".
Constant support and guidance and never felt that I had nobody to turn to. Also had a lot of help from my head of department.
The days were always jam packed, it made the weeks go fast!
Throughout the placement I was given a large amount of responsibility, which allowed me to develop as a person.
Particularly excel skills and managing both your managers and suppliers.
The Company
Great! Whilst everyone was working very hard, there was always the opportunity to have a chat with someone within the department.
Well organised and it showed how Renault have developed a comprehensive placement scheme.
There was constant on the job training. The only training aside from that I think I could have benefited from was presentation training.

Renault have a good rotational graduate scheme, that has proved successful with lots of Graduates. It is very competitive however spending a year there means that you have a good understanding. No job is guaranteed, but if you apply yourselves when applying for the graduate programme it will put you in good stead.
The Culture
Lots of nights out, as well as events organised by the company.
Living just outside London meant that you were close to London, however the prices were not extortionate. Rickmansworth was expensive due to the area but if you went to the right places it wasn't too bad.
We spent most of our nights out in either Watford or Central London. Getting into Central London was easy via the tubes, so there was lots of night life opportunities.
I took part in the Renault Football team, however there were also other activities outside of work.
